Rośnie liczba awarii procesorów Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Wygląda jednak na to, że problemem nie są same układy scalone - a płyty główne, na których są montowane. Szczególnie problematyczne wydają się płyty jednego producenta.

Na platformie Reddit zestawiono dokładną listę 107 przypadków uszkodzonych procesorów Ryzen 7 9800X3D w ciągu ostatnich dwóch miesięcy. Statystyki są niepokojące - większość procesorów przestaje działać w bardzo krótkim czasie od rozpoczęcia użytkowania. W niektórych przypadkach awarie nastąpiły już po zaledwie kilkudziesięciu minutach lub godzinie od pierwszego uruchomienia. Użytkownicy zgłaszają nagłe wyłączenia systemów, niestabilność pracy oraz całkowitą utratę funkcjonalności CPU.
Co ciekawe, w zdecydowanej większości przypadków uszkodzeniu ulega tylko sam procesor, podczas gdy płyta główna pozostaje w pełni sprawna i działa poprawnie po wymianie CPU na inny model.

Zdecydowana większość awarii - aż 82 proc. zgłoszonych przypadków - dotyczy płyt głównych firmy Asrock. Problemy występują zarówno na modelach z nowszymi chipsetami X870 i B850 (odpowiednio 45 proc. i 33 proc. incydentów), jak i na starszych płytach z serii 600. Choć w mniejszym stopniu, awarie odnotowano również na płytach ASUS, MSI i Gigabyte. Dodatkowo, poza Ryzenem 7 9800X3D, pojawił się także pierwszy raport o uszkodzeniu procesora Ryzen 9 9950X3D, również na płycie głównej ASRock.
So far there are 108 stories from people of 9800X3D which passed POST, and was working for a short amount of time before suddenly dying with no signs of failure. Also 2 9950X3D, and 10 other 9000 series Ryzen CPUs.
Happened on a variety of boards, which are:
1.AsRock B650 Steel Legend Wifi (My CPU, lasted 2 months. Died while I was AFK, went back to system turned off and stuck on CPU debug leg, can't POST, CPU RMA'd)
- Resolution: RMA'd CPU. System working with replacement 9800X3D.
2.ASRock X870 RIPTIDE WIFI (Lasted 2 months) -9800X3D - DEAD after 2 months??
- Resolution: Tried system with 7600X and it was working, still waiting for 9800X3D RMA. No confirmation of system working currently.
3.ASRock X870E Taichi (Lasted a week) -Killed a 9800x3d in a week.
- Resolution: Tested system with 8500G, 9800X3D RMA'd. System working with replacement 9800X3D.
4.ASRock B650 Steel Legend Wifi (Lasted 2 days) -9800X3D build, dead after 2 days
- Resolution: Microcenter confirmed 9800X3D dead and replaced it. OP replaced mobo with MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk Wifi, system working with replacement 9800X3D.

- Resolution: Tested system with replacement PSU and motherboard, still failed. 9800X3D RMA'd. System currently working now with replacement CPU.

- Resolution: Faulty IMC, CPU died after enabling EXPO. 9800X3D RMA'd. No further info.
In summary there are 14 dead 9800x3Ds which died in this similar fashion, 11 using AsRock, 1 Gigabyte, 2 Asus. The conclusion? Could just be normal failure rate for the 9800X3D. Just interesting how these CPUs failed after working for a short amount of time.
